A few people knew this, but most of you don't, but I adopted an adorably cute and amazing cat named Leon almost two weeks ago. He was abused, starved, and eventually abandoned. The lady who had him also had 49 other cats in her home, along with her child. The vet managed to rescue a total of 23 when
Erik-Tan and I went there, they're pretty sure they'll get the other 27 soon, I really hope they do. Leon was 6 years old and nothing but skin and bones, the poor baby looked like he hadn't eaten in years, he probably hadn't. The moment I laid eyes on that cat with the messy fur, overbite, and pouty lip, I was in love. But as soon as he reached out and touched my face with his paw, I knew he was coming home with me. He was the perfect cat, mellow and needy. When he first got to my house he hid under my bed [once the drugs wore off cuz he got fixed the day I took him home], but he slowly started coming out. Around the third day he was able to jump on and off the bed all by himself, I was so happy that he seemed to be doing better. At night he'd lay on me, watch TV with me, and eventually fall asleep either curled behind my knees or at my feet. He was a sucker for cat treats, he'd just look at you with those big ol eyes. He even got to the point where he'd follow me all around my room. As soon as I walked into my room he'd wiggle out from under the bed and meow at me. Heck, one night he got so jealous cuz I was on my laptop he clawed out a few of my keys! He eventually gave up and fell asleep on my arms, but still, that was cute.
A week ago I had to have
Erik-Tan keep a hold of Leon for me because my mom was being a butt about him being there. My best friend took in that cutie without a single thought. She took care of him for that week and made him happy when I couldn't because I had to try and work my mom into letting him stay.
Erik-Tan noticed something was wrong with Leon when he peed on the bed, which he never did. He never had accidents outside the litter. She called her mom and they took him to the vet. He didn't make the ride. The vets think that his internal organs were just far too damaged from the malnutrition he suffered and his heart gave out. We both tried our best to give that dorky looking cutie the best life he could have within that short time we had him. I'll always miss him and love him, I'm just sad that he had to go so early...
Sorry, just had to get that out. And no Misty, it's not your fault. >;I Give
Erik-Tan some love, she blames herself for what happened when it was that old dumb hags fault. Thank gawd they'll most likely be putting her in prison for all this. She needs to rot away.
